Across the more-than-human world, animals and plants speak a truth older than borders: to move and roam is not a privilege, but a necessity, a rhythm of survival woven into the fabric of life. But why is it such a challenge for us, as internationals, to make sense of new space/home?
Grounded in experience design and unlearning, this program creates space to question dominant narratives, face the complexities of disconnection and transition, and explore what it truly means to be at home in unfamiliar places.

on experience design, empathy, systems thinking, intercultural communication, and prototyping: all to help internationals build connection and belonging through hands-on experiences in their new city.

Through the program, each participant will design and carry out their own belonging experiment: small, meaningful actions that create connection and community in their new city.

From hosting and holding difficult conversations to designing inclusive, real-world experiences, this program equips you with a set of skills to help you navigate complexity, foster belonging, and create meaningful change in your new city.

Re-Routed, a collective recognized for its innovative and grassroots approach to migration and inclusion.
Long Way Home will be facilitated by Tumi Sineke and Bistra Kumbaroska. They have both lived across continents, carrying the wisdom of many homes within them. With rich experience in intercultural communication and social innovation, they understand firsthand the challenges and beauty of belonging in new places. They have worked extensively with clients across companies and international organizations, bringing proven expertise in facilitating change and building inclusive communities.

As this is a pilot edition of the program, we’re offering it at a special discounted rate of 350EUR, a 50% reduction from its future full price. This reduced fee reflects our committment to co-creating this first version with a diverse and engaged group of participants, while still offering high-quality facilitation, resources, and personalized support.
